僕は、この訃報を受けて、静かに少し凹んでいます。

“プロレスの神様”として知られ、現在では無我ワールド・プロレスリングの
名誉顧問を務めるカール・ゴッチさんが２９日に死亡したことが報じられた。
ゴッチさんが亡くなったのは夜９時４５分で死因は不明。８２歳だった。

プロレスラーの名を挙げろと言われたら、１と２が猪木かゴッチ。３、４がなくて５が木戸修。
僕にとっては、文字通りの神様でした。
アントニオ猪木を通してカール・ゴッチがビル・ライレー・ジム（蛇の穴）を世に知らしめ、
我々はCatch As Catch Canの世界を垣間見る事が出来た訳です。
この「捕まえれるものは、捕まえろ」の精神は、僕の競馬に置ける座右の銘ともなっています（笑）
本当に、猪木vsゴッチ戦は凄かったです。興行的なプロレスとしては話にならない戦いでしたが
息を呑んで観るような凄まじいものでした。あれが僕のプロレスファンとしての根本です。
「腕が廻れば絶対に投げれる」と云いきり、アンドレ・ザ・ジャイアント（当時はモンスター・
ロシモフ）を相手に投げてみせたジャーマン・スープレックス・ホールドは一流の芸術であり、
彼の全てがストロング・スタイルでした。
生前のご活躍に感謝と畏敬の念を表し、謹んでご冥福をお祈りします。

　先日、職場でこの話題が出て、つい、「新日本プロレスの精神的支柱」てなことを口走ってしまったら、ワイより年上の方には賛同を得た一方、若い衆には引かれてしまいました。最近、世代間の断層を実感します。
　ところでＩＷＡさんにとっては、植木通彦の引退、はやっぱ、どおでもええことですわね…。

一方、「艇王」の引退は、確かに「おっ！」っと反応したのですが
競艇は良くわからない上に、年下だけに伝説に思えないんですよね。
僕が武豊より武邦彦に敬意を表するのと同様に。
そう云った観点から、「艇王」より「モンスター」や「瀬戸の大魔神」や「ゼンパク」の方が脅威です（爆）
