Copper scrap transport Copper has been an important metal in human civilizations for thousands of years. Its discovery in the early Neolithic age (approximately 10,000 BCE) revolutionized the way that humans could live, as it allowed for the production of tools and weapons. Copper was used extensively by the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, and played a significant role in many of their technological and artistic advancements. One of the most notable uses of copper in antiquity was in the production of bronze, an alloy of copper and tin. The creation of bronze allowed for the production of stronger and more durable tools and weapons, which had significant effects on the societies that used them. The ancient Egyptians used copper extensively in their artwork and architecture, and it was even used to plate the exterior of the Great Pyramid at Giza. During the Middle Ages, the use of copper continued to expand. It was used in the construction of churches and other buildings, and was also used in the creation of decorative jewels and other ornaments. Copper was also used in medicine, as it was believed to have healing properties. Perhaps one of the most significant uses of copper during this time was in the production of coins. The Roman Empire was one of the first civilizations to create a standardized system of coinage, and copper coins were an important part of this system. Copper coins were also used extensively throughout Europe during the Middle Ages. Today, copper continues to be an important metal in industry and technology. It is used in a wide range of products, from electrical wiring to plumbing fixtures, and is also a key component in the production of various alloys.
