その土俵の鬼の名は、花田勝治

仕方のないこととは云え、残念な訃報が続きます。

日本相撲協会の元理事長で「土俵の鬼」と呼ばれた名横綱、初代若乃花の花田勝治さんが
１日、腎細胞がんのため入院先の東京・慶応病院で死去した。８２歳だった。
青森県弘前市出身。１９４６年に初土俵を踏み、５８年初場所後に第４５代横綱に昇進した。
引退後は二子山部屋を起こし、２代目若乃花（現間垣親方）、隆の里（現鳴戸親方）の
２横綱と、実弟の貴ノ花、若嶋津の人気大関らを育てた。
元横綱の貴乃花親方と３代目若乃花の若貴兄弟はおいに当たる。

僕は今や大相撲のことなんかどうでもいいし、さすがに僕が生まれる前に花田勝治は引退して
いたので、現役時代は知らない。僕は大鵬を応援するしかなかったんです。
けど、僕が小学生の頃、貴ノ花が出て来たので、必死で応援した。
祖父、父、僕と三代にわたる由緒正しき二子山びいきとなった訳です。
それにしても僕にとって、林檎農園の長男で、元沖仲仕である花田勝治の存在感は土俵を去って
からも大きかった。この人がいたからこそ、僕は約３０年間大相撲を見続けたと云っても
過言ではないし、逆にいなくなったからもう、どうでもいいんです（笑）
この際、花田勝の父親がどうとか、名古屋では常識だとかは、どうでもいい。
僕は僕だから、花田勝治に最大の感謝の意を表したいと思います。
謹んでご冥福をお祈りします。安らかにお眠りください。

あっしの名前は「貴年」といいますが、
由来は、先代の貴乃花の「貴」です。
ちなみに「年」は黒沢年男・・・。
