めがねの街

めがねの街
a05070401.jpg眼鏡テロリストのネタではありません（笑）
けど、福井県には眼鏡の神様がいるはずです。
だって、現在の国産眼鏡フレームのうち、
実に約９５％以上が鯖江市とその近隣の県内で
生産されているらしいですから。
だからと云って県民全部が鯖江でめがねを
買ってるわけではない。
けど、仁さんも知ってる鯖江のめがねを
僕が無視して過ごすのもどうかと思う。
てな訳で行ってきましたよ、鯖江。
でも、どこへ行っていいのか、正直解らない。
工場はいっぱいあるけど、販売してる店舗とかがＷＥＢで見つからないんですよ。
結局、ネット上で東京のお友達にアドバイスいただきました。


写真の田中眼鏡本舗の浪漫堂。
こじんまりとした店舗でレトロな雰囲気がバッチグー（←死語）。
品揃えも量販店の数分の一って感じで少ないのですが、良いフレームがたくさん。
でも、15,000円～30,000円って感じで決して安くはないんですよ（笑）
日本の眼鏡フレームのメッカならではの問屋価格ってのではないことは、確か。
その点においてのみ、釈然としない。
いや、素人目にもリーズナブルな値段である事は一目瞭然なんです。
そして眼鏡に対する愛情とこだわりに溢れている店であることは確かです。
だから、買おうとしたのですが、色の種類がなかった。
土曜日だったのでメーカー在庫も解らなかった。しかも、福井市の本店には、
もっと多くの種類の眼鏡があることも教えてくれた。
「じゃ、今度そっち行きます」（笑）
次回、本店を攻めてみようと思います。あと、鯖江の他の店も。
帰りに本丸である「めがね会館」で情報収集しようと思ったのですが、休館でした。
うー！

去年から行きたいとは思っていたのですが、なかなか足を運べず早１年くらい経ってます、めがね会館。
