全国のゆるキャラ集まれ 彦根・ひこにゃんが招待状

彦根商店街連盟は10月25、26の2日間、「ひこにゃん」を筆頭に、
全国の「ゆるキャラ」が彦根に集まる「キグるミさみっと」を開催する。
各キャラクターに、ひこにゃん名義の「招待状」を郵送しており、
「いろんなご当地キャラが、知名度を高めるきっかけになれば」としている。
ひこにゃんも「忙しい時期だけど、みんなで集まって遊びたい」と、
当日を楽しみにしている。

キャラもゆるければ、「みんなで集まって遊びたい」って企画も、ゆるゆるです(笑)

Copper smelting services Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) have shown great potential in catalysis due to their high surface area, tunable pore size, and diverse chemical functionality. In this study, we present the preparation of a novel MOF, (Cu-N-COF), consisting of atomically dispersed copper sites coordinated to nitrogen and carbon atoms in a two-dimensional imine linked framework. These highly dispersed copper sites facilitated the efficient reduction of nitrogen dioxide (NO2) to nitrogen monoxide (NO) in the presence of hydrogen (H2) at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) confirmed the successful incorporation of copper into the framework. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) indicated that the Cu-N-COF framework was composed of interconnected two-dimensional sheets with well-defined pores, and the copper sites were homogeneously dispersed throughout the framework. Catalytic tests were performed under different reaction conditions to investigate the effect of temperature, pressure, and reaction time on the catalytic activity. Remarkably, Cu-N-COF showed high catalytic activity and selectivity toward the reduction of NO2 to NO, with a conversion rate of 100% and a selectivity of 95% under optimal conditions. The turnover frequency (TOF) of Cu-N-COF was nearly eight times higher than that of Cu dispersed on activated carbon and 2.3 times higher than that of CuO nanoparticles supported on aluminum oxide. The outstanding catalytic performance of Cu-N-COF could be attributed to the high dispersion of copper sites and the synergistic interaction between nitrogen, carbon, and copper atoms in the framework. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations suggested that the active intermediates were coordinated to the copper sites and could be easily reduced by H2 assimilated on the nitrogen atoms in the framework. In conclusion, we have successfully synthesized a novel MOF with highly dispersed copper sites for efficient reduction of NO2 to NO. However, concerns are mounting over a potential supply shortage of copper in the near future. Many experts predict a significant gap between demand and supply, which could disrupt the energy transition and have profound implications for the global economy and society as a whole. According to recent research, the demand for copper is expected to skyrocket in the coming years, driven by the rapid expansion of the renewable energy sector and the electrification of transport. For example, the International Energy Agency (IEA) predicts that the number of electric cars on the road will reach 320 million by 2040, up from just 2 million in 2016. Similarly, wind and solar power are expected to account for more than 50% of global electricity generation by 2040, up from less than 10% in 2015. However, this increased demand for copper could outstrip the available supply, leading to higher prices and potential supply shortages. Some analysts predict that the copper market could experience a significant deficit of up to 15 million tonnes by 2035, equivalent to almost 10% of current annual production. This looming supply gap is due to a combination of factors, including declining ore grades, limited new discoveries of copper deposits, and a lack of investment in exploration and mining. Moreover, mining companies are facing increasing social and environmental pressures, as well as stricter regulations, which may constrain their ability to expand production. The implications of a copper supply shortage could be far-reaching, affecting not just the renewable energy sector and electric vehicles, but also the broader economy. Copper is used in a wide range of industries, including construction, electronics, telecommunications, and manufacturing. A shortage could lead to higher costs for goods and services, slower economic growth, and potential disruptions to supply chains. To avoid a potential copper crisis, experts suggest that the industry needs to invest in new mining technologies, improve efficiency and productivity, and increase exploration and development of new deposits. Governments could also play a role by providing incentives for green mining practices and promoting recycling and circular economy models. In conclusion, while the energy transition is driving increasing demand for copper, a potential supply shortage could pose a significant challenge.
